COMMUNITY ACTION TEAM
Milgard Community Action Team volunteers have set the standard in their communities for involvement in charitable events, fundraising, and community improvement activities.
As a team representing volunteerism at Milgard, we are committed to these principles:
-
To Help Those in Need
Whether it is individuals in the community or Milgard employees themselves, we are committed to putting our people and dollar resources to work for the good of others.
-
To Inspire Volunteerism
We wish to be a catalyst that inspires others at Milgard and in the community to become more involved in giving of themselves, their time, and their talents. Our involvement in activities reflects the interests and desires of Milgard employees in serving the community in which we live.
-
To Care for the Greater Good of Others
These things we do out of care and concern for others. We are proud to be able to give back to our communities and are thankful for the opportunity to make a difference in the areas that we live.
WHAT WE DO
Milgard's Community Action Team (MG/CAT) was created so that we, as Milgard employees, can actively give back to the communities in which we live and work. MG/CAT gives back in two ways. First, through volunteerism in our communities, and secondly, through monetary donations.
Each of our locations has designated MG/CAT committee members who organize our monthly MG/CAT events. Our monthly events encourage employee participation and each event benefits a targeted local community charitable organization. Some of our monthly events include: fundraisers, community beautification, elderly assistance, and special activities for underprivileged children.
MATCHING GIFT PROGRAM
Milgard as a company is involved in the donation aspect of MG/CAT through the creation of Milgard's Matching Gift Program. This program is designed to stimulate increased giving on the part of Milgard employees. It enables Milgard to support the same local charitable causes that our employees support. MG/CAT also allows Milgard employees to deduct funds from their paychecks and distribute them to a qualified community service organization of their choice. Milgard will match each of these monthly paycheck deductions up to an assigned amount per employee, per year. In addition, Milgard provides greater incentives for employee volunteerism by doubling the size of the matching gift when the employee has donated 50 or more hours of their time in the past 12 months to the same organization.
