It’s that time of year again! The 22nd Annual Tour of Remodeled Homes, brought to you by the Remodelers Council of the Master Builders Association of Pierce County, Washington.

Milgard was pleased to have windows and patio doors showcased in this annual South Puget Sound event which features our local community of outstanding and innovative remodelers.

Two out of the four properties on this year’s tour used Milgard windows and patio doors in their project. Both vinyl and fiberglass windows and doors were selected. We’ve included some details and photos to inspire you, but, if you are a Washington local, you can attend the event in person September 28-29, 2019. See details here.

Remodeled Garage Accessory Dwelling Unit

The garage remodel and addition met with the owner’s idea of a relaxing retreat for visitors in Gig Harbor. The home received a 1,200 square-foot, 2-bedroom, 2 bath addition atop a 4-car garage. The project required 20 Milgard vinyl windows and a sliding patio door. As you walk into the main living space and ascend the stairs, you are greeted with a contemporary barrel rolled ceiling. The spacious living room included a fireplace and was joined by an open concept kitchen. The master, with a 5-piece en suite bath, would leave anyone wanting to stay and relax, especially to enjoy the deck with a beautiful view of Horsehead Bay.

Whole House Remodel

This beautiful University Place house had an amazing view, but an awkward layout. Five new Milgard® Tuscany® Series vinyl windows with valance grids were a great solution. The entry was down behind the house and on the lower level where there were just bedrooms. Walls were removed and a 40’ bridge was added to connect the main level of the house to the street for a better entry. The remodel also required three new Milgard UltraTM Series fiberglass patio doors: inswing, outswing and a slider. The new open floor plan turned this house with an amazing water view, into the view itself.
